Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™

Antioxidant Support Antioxidant spacer Immune Support Immune spacer Energy Energy

Polyphenol catechins are antioxidant compounds that protect cells and tissues by neutralizing 'free radicals.'
PureGels® Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™ provides the most complete spectrum and highest potencies of polyphenol catechins naturally occurring in tea leaves.* It contains standardized levels of 95% total polyphenols - providing 570 mg per daily serving - and 50% of the polyphenol catechin Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), the compound most responsible for green tea's healthy function - providing 300 mg per daily serving. Two soft gels per day provide a dosage in line with numerous clinical trials which demonstrate extraordinary benefits of green tea in powerful antioxidant and immune support, and in promoting energy.*

The PureGels® Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™ soft gel delivery system maximizes internal absorption.*
All ingredients of the soft gel, even the pill color, are 100% naturally occurring.

Benefits of Green Tea

1) Powerful Antioxidant Support
Green tea is rich of natural antioxidant compounds called, polyphenols. In vitro studies have shown that several polyphenolic compounds known as catechins are potent antioxidants and may protect cells and tissues against free radicals in the body. Free radicals - although they are essential in a variety of biological processes, such as fighting bacterial and viral infections - can be harmful if present in excess, leading to oxidative stress.

2) Immune Support
There is in vitro evidence that green tea and its catechins have some antiviral and antimicrobial activities. In a 1999 study, various green tea catechins were shown to inhibit extra-cellular release of toxins from Escherichia coli.1 In other in vitro studies, green tea was shown to have antimicrobial activity against a variety of gram-positive and gram-negative pathogenic bacteria that cause cystitis diarrhea, dental caries, pneumonia, and skin infections.2

3) Weight Management & Energy Expenditure
The polyphenols in green tea are thought to be involved in thermogenesis and/or inhibition of fat absorption. A 2005 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that ingestion of a tea containing 690 mg of catechins daily for 12 weeks led to a reduction in body fat and malnodialdehyde-modified LDL (marker of oxidative stress) in healthy Japanese men.3

In a study conducted at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, researchers reported that green tea extract, rich in catechin polyphenols, increased energy expenditure and fat loss in healthy men. The results suggest that green tea extract may be an effective way to assist with weight loss. On three separate occasions, ten healthy men received one of three treatments: green tea extract (containing 50 mg caffeine and 90 mg epigallocatechin); caffeine (50 mg); or placebo at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Relative to the placebo, treatment with green tea extract resulted in a significant increase in 24-hour energy expenditure. Treatment with caffeine had no effect on energy expenditure. These results indicate that green tea has thermogenic properties beyond that explained by its caffeine content.4

Why PureGels® Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™?

1) Highest Quality Green Tea Leaves Without Harsh Chemicals
Unlike some other green tea extract products that are out there, PureGels® Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™ is manufactured using only the highest quality leaves grown without the influence of harsh chemicals. Since green tea is chemically very similar to the leaf itself (unlike black tea, which is oxidized in the manufacturing process), great care is taken during the harvesting and extracting processes to make sure that the catechins are preserved. For this reason, the leaves are carefully plucked in order to help preserve the precious catechins which are found in the leaves. Then, careful yet rapid processing allows PureGels® to produce an extract which remains very true to the chemical composition of the leaf itself. This unique extraction process- which utilizes only ethyl alcohol and water - allows for the extraordinary levels of catechins found in our green tea extract. And, as with all PureGels® Natural Supplements, the content of green tea product is verified by an independent laboratory.

2) Maximum Benefits of Green Tea Delivered with Maximized Absorption
In order to enjoy the full benefits of green tea, one must drink 5-20 cups of green tea everyday. The good news, however, is that you can enjoy the same full benefits of green tea with just two PureGels® Green Tea Extract with T-Phenol™ soft gels a day. Our green tea extract provides maximum potency of natural antioxidants and EGCG in each serving. Better yet, it comes in 'easy-to-swallow', all-natural soft gel pill, which maximizes the internal absorption.
